PROJECT OVERVIEW
Company: Sandart
Project Duration: Dec 2022 – Jan 2023 (2 months)
Role: User Research, Web Designer & Developer
Sandart is an African e-commerce store that sells sand art crafts products and accessories.
OBJECTIVES
- To build an e-commerce-website for the brand and replace the old website which had no e-commerce functionality.
- To allow customers to checkout online so they wouldn’t have to place orders via email, and ultimately increase the online revenue of the business.
Research & Design Process
To create a user centric home page for Sandart, we conducted a thorough analysis of the arts & crafts kids products industry, reviewed competitor websites, and international websites offering similar products. This research helped us identify an ideal user experience and create sitemaps.
We began the design process by creating wireframes & mockups to explore different layout options. Through multiple iterations and feedback from stakeholders, we finalised a design that emphasised the intuitive navigation of an e-commerce page. I then we developed & executed a visual design that aligned with Kidico’s branding guidelines on WordPress.
Development and Technology
The website was built on WordPress using a combination of Elementor, Revo Theme, and CSS.
