WEB DESIGN CASE STUDY

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Company: Kidico
Project Duration: February 2022 (1 week)
Role: User Research, Web Designer
Kidico is an online South African store that sells kids’ personalised products for parents and teachers.
OBJECTIVES
- Redesign the outdated homepage of the website, transforming it into an e-commerce-focused page.
- To enhance the user experience, drive organic traffic, and ultimately increase revenue for the business.
Research & Design Process
To create a user centric home page for Kidico, we conducted a thorough analysis of the personalised products industry, reviewed competitor websites, and international websites offering the same service. This research helped us identify an ideal user experience, and industry trends.
We began the design process by creating wireframes & mockups to explore different layout options. Through iterations and feedback from stakeholders, we finalised a design that emphasised simplicity, clarity, and intuitive navigation of an ecommerce page. I then we developed & executed a visual design that aligned with Kidico’s branding guidelines on WordPress.
Development and Technology
The home page was rebuilt using a combination of WP Bakery Page Builder on WordPress, and CSS.
We also integrated lead capture forms using a MailChimp popup to facilitate lead generation and tracking.
